If you are a federal trial judge, you know things are bad when the local government decides to take over the federal courthouse by eminent domain. That’s what is happening in Aberdeen, South Dakota and it has caused my colleagues up there to move. Now, judges and court staff office in the Gallery Go/Finders Keepers building, (There is a joke there somewhere). They no longer have courtrooms, save for those that can be borrowed from the state courts. For more, see this aptly titled newspaper account, Federal court workers in Aberdeen have a new roost.
