Thanks to Elaine M., I must call to your attention: Top 10 Photos of D.C.’s Utter Destruction in Disaster Movies, Friday, August 29, 2014, by Valerie Paschall. If wishes were horses . . .
Here’s my favorite:

Earth v Flying Saucers, 1956. I’m pretty sure I saw this movie. Even then, I was rooting for the aliens. For a short trailer on this classic, see

Judge:
A truly guilty pleasure, if ever there was one. Somehow, the same feelings don’t apply when the New York City skyline gets zapped or California tumbles into the ocean (OK, maybe there IS some guilty pleasure stemming from the latter). However, given the times in which we live, one must ask: would our alien overlords even bother?

The Video surely brought back Memories of this film! Had a Good Laugh especially at the end of this clip, when He said “Only Me and My wife have survived!” His wife was Sleeping Alone? LOL
I assume this article was written because of the anniversary of the British attack on D.C. in 1814.

I don’t know if this link works – but I recommend the Washington Post article, “D.C.’s darkest day, a
war that no one remembers.”
